This visual account and reenactment of THE LAST SUPPER of Jesus with his disciples was filmed and dramatized on authentic location in the Holy Land and the Middle East. This extensive film emphasizes both the Christian tradition and the Jewish roots in the Passover meal. The Passover meal (or Seder) to this day symbolizes the delivery from slavery to freedom and commemorates in this video the ancient Hebrews sharing of it before leaving Egypt, on their long journey to the Promised Land. In addition to the authentic historical cultural background the video explores the recipes of the exotic Biblical courses served at the supper. Included with the DVD is a recipe booklet (in PDF format) not only for the symbolic foods associated with the Passover but also the other foods that make the meal a true feast of Jewish culinary, not only in the time of Jesus but also today.

"The Last Supper" provides an extended visual and narrative view of Jesus' last meal -- a Passover feast -- with his disciples. Footage of the present-day Holy Land and narrated reenactments tell the story. This video tracks the journey by Jesus to Jerusalem and the seder meal of his last week, the origins of Passover - when lamb's blood spared the children of Israel - and subsequent history of the Jewish people up to the time of Christ. Passover traditions such as unleavened bread are traced back to their Hebrew Bible origins. There are detailed descriptions of the traditional foods of the Passover seder and the agricultural practices and cooking methods used to produce and prepare them. Viewers pay a virtual visit to Jerusalem, ancient and modern, hearing and seeing the ancient customs connected to the Passover preparation and observance, including the paschal sacrifice of a year-old lamb. Viewers see an upper room similar to the one that housed the Last Supper and learn what it meant for Jesus to wash the feet of his disciples gathered there. This DVD makes clear the connections between ancient Jewish life and customs and Christian practices that came later.
