In picturesque Holland, amid the postcard-like windmills, Nazi occupation tore at towns and families. This documentary recounts what it was like for the Jews who lived through the terror; the riveting story is told by the survivors themselves. You can easily integrate this video into your teaching of the history of Europe, World War II, religions, or on sacrifice and patriotism. You can point out to even young learners that when wickedness rears its head, God puts His people in the fight to stand against the torrent. Without being graphic, this video shows clearly how Dutch patriots, many of them Christians, refused to capitulate to Nazism, and therefore saved countless lives.
