Description

Mexico, December 1531. Juan Diego, a poor Amer-Indian peasant claims that the Virgin Mary appeared to him. At first, no one believes him. But, at the Virgin's instruction, Juan Diego wraps some Castilian roses in his cloak. The roses had mysteriously bloomed at his feet on the barren rock as he stood before the Virgin. Juan Diego goes to the Bishop with his amazing story and when he opens his cloak to show the Bishop the roses, the image of the Virgin Mary appears as an impression upon the cloak.

This documentary traces the story of the Virgin of Guadalupe and tells why centuries later, pilgrims still flock to see this iconic image.
