Description

Everywhere we go, we are surrounded by screens. Have we entered a techno utopia or a virtual prison? Most would agree that we are a media-saturated society, but what effect is all this media having on us individually and culturally? People of all ages are reporting that their unchecked media consumption has led to disconnection, discontentment, and captivity.

Captivated features insights from media experts as well as personal stories from individuals and families who have escaped media addiction and learned to make discerning and God-honoring choices about their use of media technology.

This feature-length documentary is not anti-media or anti-technology, but it raises critical concerns about our culture’s seemingly unchecked enthusiasm for media consumption. It highlights the overwhelming evidence of growing problems on multiple fronts, including the potential physical, psychological, moral, and spiritual impacts of media technology when used or consumed without discretion.

Features outstanding interviews with Ray Comfort, Bob Waliszewsi, Dr. Ted Baehr, Dr. Jeff Myers, Kerby Anderson, Kevin Swanson, Dr. David Walsh, Al Menconi, Dr. Dimitri Christakis, Dick Rolfe, Phil Chalmers, Professor Mark Bauerlein, Maggie Jackson, and more. Widescreen.

Optional Spanish Subtitles

- Eye Opener

The potential negative impact upon kids and teens is much greater than I had contemplated. This video does an excellent job of interviewing experts regarding whether or not too much high intensity "screen time" is causing problems for our children cognitively, academically, morally, spiritually, and yep, even socially.
